I remember in the book, "Live From New York," then SNL writer Al Frankel spoke about how when Sir Paul was a musical guest, someone pointed at a piano and asked, "Would you mind?" Sir Paul agreed, sat down and starting playing, "'Hey Jude," and Al then wrote about how emotional everyone got. Yeah, the Beatles hit something special @@stephenm8725

Me too man I am 47 they were my childhood i grew up on Wing i had milk and honey John's last album in 1984 after his double fantasy album in 1980. It was released after his death. I watched the anthology with my mom in the 90s she was a big fan. I cry because I hear her singing hey jude in my head. Watching The Magic Christian with Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr. These guys were my childhood, my teenage years, my adulthood, and now I am singing Hey Jude in the kitchen while my 18 year old son and 14 year old daughter sing along just like me and my sister did with our mom.
@willh5847 Před 13 dny
You don't have to be a Beatles fan for this to hit deep. Here's 4 guys that were key in defining modern music, but only two of them are with us still. Yet here's the 4 of them coming together to make something new. Time is linear, but not so much is the ripples that a life can leave on the world.

My gosh, I'm crying. I'm 71 now and when the Beatles came on the scene big-time I was only 11 and they were my world. Running across the street to the store to get a pk of Beatle cards with a stick of bubblegum in it, that was life itself to me; and wearing that Beatle sweatshirt, I thgt I was the coolest kid around. That scene in the video of the four of them like they all passed away and are in heaven; that is so moving. I burst into tears. Oh no, I have to leave now and listen to it again so I can cry some more. Yes, I did cry again so I'm editing again. I forgot to say something about that empty stage at the end of the video. @@djm55 Perhaps he recanted. "Now and Then" isn't the best Beatles song ever but it's good final song. McCartney doesn't need more money so that's not why he did this project. MJ,Elvis and obviously, the beatles and a small group of other musicians too. Just watch them at shea? stadium in Chicago? I think. Mate the beatles opened the door for the British invasion and they're the only invasions we want. Good music to bring people together. Unfortunately music today is shocking. Like the top 40 which is what we have here in England is just embarrassing. Bring back the 90s. I can think of no one who didn't wish for a Beatles reunion at some point when all four were still alive and making music. Sad that it never happened. As I watch this incredible montage of Beatles chronology, every moment of which places a footnote on the pages of my life, I can't help but feel that this is the reunion we were all hoping for, only somehow better. There's no profound significance to that. Of course tons of people will be intrigued enough to click on a new song by a very famous, long-passed band.
@axelbruv Před 3 měsíci
@@brondarch2450 I suppose so. But not everyone likes The Beatles. And the generation who grew up in the 60's are starting to pass themselves. It is great that successive generations appreciate them, though. It would be nice to think the current generation of teenagers enjoy this song as well.

There will never ever be anyone even close to the Beatles. I didn't know about this song till yesterday and I can't stop listening to it and I can't stop crying. My mom passed away 2 weeks ago and this song hits different in so many ways.
God bless.

Can’t stop thinking about the musicians who thought they were playing on a Paul solo project, and they’re actually playing on the final Beatles song. What a gift.

Indeed. They had no idea. And weren't told what they were recording

Every Friday during Middle school years, my dad always picked me up at the bus station coming from the private school that's over 100 miles away and we usually stopped at a hot dog restaurant in Hollywood and heard the Beatles songs on the radio and that was during 1965 thru 1968. My dad passed away in 2002 and this song is for him. RIP Rudy, John, and George.

At 35 I never thought I would see one live. Then I got to see Sir Paul McCartney last week play for 3 hours. Hands down the best concert I’ve ever been to. I could see the glint in the eyes of the older people in the crowd remembering their best moments through the music.

I was 13 yrs old when I was standing in front of the tv on February 1964. The Beatles came to the states and were on the Ed Sullivan show. I felt like I was introduced into another music world. I fell in love with Paul right away, but I loved all of them. To have this generation being introduced to a brand new Beatle song is amazing. Plus it came out on Nov 2nd. My 73rd birthday!❤ counterculture began ✌️
@TheVOXProject Před 3 měsíci
The music video pinnacled the powerful emotion the song conveyed. The four best friends came together again with a farewell message of peace and love. The history of the Beatles no longer ends in 1970 with their bitter break-up. Instead, it reaches a powerful and ravishing finale in 2023 - with the boys reunited and reconciled. This is the perfect epilogue the Beatles deserved.

That was beautifully expressed. It makes me wonder if Peter Jackson is working on restoring the complete “Shea Stadium” concert or will be revisiting and expanding the Anthology documentary series. He’s now the 5th Beatle due to his remarkable contributions to preserving their music and their image on film :he’s earned his stripes…
